If used with complying battery inverters, the AC ELWA-F detects over the AC line if excessive power is available.
It automatically uses this energy for hot water storage.
Otherwise there would be no utilization at all once the battery is fully charged.
This is real ?plug-and-play?: Just plug into the power line, done!
There is no need of any additional communication wiring.
How AC ELWA-F works
Photovoltaic off-grid systems have always to be dimensioned that they can provide enough energy even under unfavorable solar conditions. This inevitably leads to a shutdown of the solar generator even at good solar irradiation. This energy is lost.
The AC ELWA-F detects via the grid-control of the inverter, if there is excess energy in the off-grid available and uses it for the storage in hot-water. In that way the whole storage capacity in the off-grid system can be scaled up. Energy is used that was wasted until now.
The desired water-temperature can be adjusted with a knob.
